General Overview Generally, when Bela Bartok was composing nationalism song, he was influenced by nationalism movement to express the culture of local Hungarian people. German elites ignored the traditions of the Hungarian people and their songs lacked traditional styles. However, Bela Bartok concentrated his research work on traditional dances and came up with interesting Hungarian folk music. Nationalist forces evident in youth works influenced the ideas to be expressed in music and other artistic works. Moreover, the musical work by Bartok on nationalism used harmonic structure to ensure nationalism ideas were spread to many people (Bartók, 2015).

General Overview Bela Bartok’s folk music involved use of progressive piece known as mikrokosmos in piano. He is a Hungarian composer who has contributed greatly to music. He is a pianist, teaches music and actively developed ethnomusicology field in Hungary. Bela Bartok is ranked as the best composer of the 20th century in Eastern Europe. Also, Bela Bartok developed musical skills since he was young with the help of his mother. He composed a mix of nationalism with his melodies influenced by folk music of Romania (Bartók, 2015.

General Overview Bela Bartok through his various contributions is viewed as a symbol of political radicalism. Through his musical works, he was influenced by political situations to compose artistic work on Nationalism. As a composer, Bela Bartok carried out extensive research on folk music and melodies relating to their element (Bartók, 2015. He has composed orchestra music and many folk songs and is known to have founded comparative musicology.

listening notes The Hungarian music was presented by means of instrumental styles. Through bending of knees, the musical work drew the attention of Hungarian folk music fans. The first movement aimed at composing something which is Hungarian in style. The National movement influenced many people to conceptualize Hungarian folk music by the help of Bela Bartok (Bennighof, 2001). Also, the second movement through glisser style enabled Bela Bartok to demonstrate how Hungarian traditions are important in composing folk music. Bela Bartok in his work utilized western romantic influences to attract more audience.

Structure Bela Bartok’s folk song music was well organized with harmonic structure. Proper music attires are usually won for particular sessions. String quartet involved four men with guitars.
