1 I know that's a secret, for it's whispered everywhere. William Congreve

2 Our Review – Three Cards
You will be assigned three pieces and provided three notecards. For one notecard you will complete a secret for one of your pieces For one notecard you will complete a lit in 6 for one of your pieces For your final notecard you can choose either a secret or a lit in 6 for your review.

3 Secrets…. You will create a secret for someone in that story! On the front of the card you will create your decorative secret, on the back you will put the character and the piece your secret is for!

4 When it comes to the secret for your character think about the following:
it can be a regret, hope, belief, experience, fear, betrayal, desire, feeling, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything - as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before. (So don’t go with something glaringly obvious! Try to think between the lines! This is a review for the class too!)

5 (Can't draw? Try including an old picture, memento, or collage)
Tips: Be brief – the fewer words used the better. Be legible– use big, clear and bold lettering. Be creative – let the postcard be your canvas. Don’t be obvious – this is a secret!  Should be easy to read, short, and creative. Remember: Don’t name your story on the front & don’t reference any characters by name! Be sure you are true to content! (Can't draw? Try including an old picture, memento, or collage)

6 Examples of secrets . . .

10 “Running to America”

12 “The Yellow Wallpaper”

13 Lit in 6…. You will create a six word memoir for someone in that story! On the front of the card you will write your six word life story, on the back you will put the character and the piece your memoir is for! Be sure you capture the entirety of the story within your six words! When Hemingway famously wrote, “For Sale: baby shoes, never worn,” he proved that an entire story can be told using a half dozen words. When the online storytelling magazine SMITH asked readers to submit six-word memoirs, they proved a whole, real life can be told this way too.
