2 Student Information Sheet & Workbook
Put your name on your Module 1 Workbook Fill out the top section Please have your parents fill out the bottom section in the box! Start working on the survey on the back. The more comments the better!

3 Video Release Form PLEASE have your parents sign the video release form! It is REQUIRED and this is extremely important because we WILL be filming some of our classes!! Turn these in no later than Monday Jan. 29th!

6 Supplies We will keep a notebook with a Table of Contents
You will get a new workbook for every module. Please bring a pencil! We have graph paper, colored pencils, highlighters, glue, tape, staplers, and scissors, but you may want your own! Calculator: TI-83+, TI-84+, or something similar. We have a class set and you will be assigned a calculator, but we HIGHLY encourage you to purchase one. You will need your own in future math classes.

7 Syllabus Questions When can you come for tutoring?
After school on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The tutoring schedule is on the class website and syllabus. When is Open House? Thursday February 8, 2018 at 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. How much do unit assessments count towards your final grade? 50%. That’s a lot! Other than taking a quiz in class, what else might count as a quiz grade? A task from the module book may be assigned as a “project” which will count as a quiz grade Where can you go to get make-up work when you are absent? The purple binder! Ms. Curtis’ website Borrow a friend’s notebook or Ms. Curtis or Ms. Skellington’s notebook

8 Procedures Turn in tray by window
Sharpen and ask for pencils before class begins Hall pass for bathroom breaks - CAN NOT GO 1st 10 minutes or last 10 minutes (school policy)

9 BYOD When the sign flips to green, you may use your device for classwork Sign up for Remind! @math1fv Find Ms. Curtis’ website Math1Curtis.weebly.com Find the NC Math 1 Student Support Site (Directions with syllabus) When the sign flips to red, you may NOT use your device anymore If you need to charge your phone - plug it in the BACK WALL and DO NOT go get it until either the end of class or we use it for an activity.

18 Group Roles Starter Challenger Architect Finisher
Asks questions that will guide the group to start a task Challenger Asks questions that will check for accuracy, and make sure the tasks questions are being answered correctly. Architect Asks questions about different ways to model the math in the tasks - tables, graphs, equations, diagrams, stories. Finisher Asks questions to see if the questions within the task have all been answered. Decides who will share and how to explain.
