Once you have identified the percentage of item selection for each item across presentation session, calculate the average percentage that each item was selected across the three sessions. The formula for calculating the average is located at the bottom of the data sheet which states to add presentation one, plus presentation 2, plus presentation 3 and divide the sum by 3. Once you have calculated the average percentage for each item, rank each item based on that percentage from 1 as the most preferred and 5 as the least preferred. If 2 or more items equal the same percentage, rank those items with the same number. For example, if item two and three were both chosen an average of 28%, then both of these items would be ranked at number 4 and there would be no number 5 ranking. In this example, granola was ranked number 1 and the most preferred item. Now that you have identified the number 1 ranked item, you know that there is a good chance this item will work as a reinforcer during your regularly scheduled time with your client.
