4 WHY NGO SUPPORT IS IMPORTANT TO GOLD STANDARD
Shape Helps to shape our strategy and policies so that Gold Standard serves as an effective mechanism to deliver on that ambition Ensure Ensures that our processes and tools are delivered successfully in projects on the ground and duly represent the positions of local stakeholders Build Builds credibility for our approach and help us advocate for more ambitious action in climate and development The core principle of membership in the NGO Supporter Network is a commitment to Gold Standard’s vision and mission Members commit to endorsing the Gold Standard’s approach to quantifying and certifying climate and sustainable development impacts. It does not require any financial commitment. It does not preclude an organisation from recognising another standard or project type, nor from critiquing Gold Standard or its projects.

5 CURRENT WAYS TO ENGAGE AS NGO SUPPORTER
As NGO supporter only (simply signing our Endorsement statement) Thought leadership/policy papers co-authorship or contributions, signing on to specific initiatives/calls to action Contribution to standard, tools and methodology development Project / consultation reviews for specific project types and regions Co-creation of new initiatives and programmes with other stakeholders (corporates, associations, NGOs, developers) Endorsement Advocacy Technical development Project reviews Co-creation Currently there are different ways and levels of engagement with GS We want to explore during this session if there are other ways to engage to increase collaboration

6 INCREASED COLLABORATION THROUGH THE GS PLATFORM
Robust standard and certified impacts Mobilise partnerships and facilitate structured programmes to catalyse more ambitious climate action NGO Supporters can now participate in programmes and new initiatives on the GS Platform and collaborate with other stakeholders.
