1 Installations and Inductions
Lt Governor Training Installations and Inductions Leadership Development Committee – June 2015

2 Installations and Inductions
How do I install new club officers? What about the induction of new members? What is the difference between installing and inducting? Installation of the Club officers is an excellent way for the Lt. Governor to participate in a Club gathering and begin to get to know the Club members. It is also a valuable way for the Lt. Governor to impress upon the Club the importance of their Club officers. Installations are to put the leadership positions in place for the Optimist year. The Induction is the introduction and initiation of the New Member(s) to the club.

3 Installation Event Schedule with incoming President
Recognize the importance Make it special Dress the part! Call the new Club President to schedule your visit for the Installation of the new officers and Board. Be sure that the President recognizes the importance of the Installation being done in front of members, spouses, partners, others. This event should be special! Always remember to dress appropriately – as the Lt. Governor, you are representing the District at this important event.

4 Lt Governor Opening President, incoming officers & Directors
Projects and impact on the community Honor and/or Distinguished History of the club Share the excitement! The Lt. Governor should briefly recognize and commend the club officers; identify the impact of the club’s projects on the community; share the significance of the club being Honor/Distinguished by noting the banner patches; recognize the history of the club’s service (banner patches); and share the excitement of who we are as Optimists.

When the Pledge has been repeated by all, they may put their hands down as you continue with the remainder of the Induction. Be sure to shake the hand of the new member(s) as you welcome them. Encourage club members to shake hands and welcome the new member(s) as well.
