Charged with fostering diversity and inclusion, creating a climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion(DEI) throughout the University. 3 Report Bias and AD 29 As an educational institution, the University has a mandate to address problems of a society deeply ingrained with bias and prejudice. Acts of intolerance violate the principles upon which American society is built and serve to destroy the fabric of the society we share. Such actions not only do untold and unjust harm to the dignity, safety and well-being of those who experience this pernicious kind of discrimination but also threaten the reputation of the University and impede the realization of the University's educational mission. 5 Report Bias – Syllabus example
Penn State takes great pride to foster a diverse and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff. Acts of intolerance, discrimination, or harassment due to age, ancestry, color, disability, gender, gender identity, national origin, race, religious belief, sexual orientation, or veteran status are not tolerated and can be reported through Educational Equity via the Report Bias webpage ( OFFICE OF THE VICE PROVOST FOR EDUCATIONAL EQUITY

6 Senior Faculty Mentor – Keith Gilyard, Ed.D.
Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of English and African American Studies Provides support to tenure-track faculty members belonging to underrepresented racial/ethnic groups regarding tenure and promotion: one-on-one consultations, including reviews of dossiers regarding faculty members’ professional progress; supplemental funding for faculty members to participate in professional conferences, thus strengthening cases for tenure and promotion; and, networking activities such as receptions, colloquia, and the maintenance of a listserv OFFICE OF THE VICE PROVOST FOR EDUCATIONAL EQUITY
