3 Who are Stonehaven Town Partnership (STP)?
STP is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation SCO44134 STP are a focal point for Stonehaven’s groups and organisations, and through them, the people of Stonehaven in relation to matters affecting the town’s growth and economic development, the well-being of inhabitants, and the promotion of the town’s attractions. With these contacts STP create, develop and promote an overall strategy for the development and benefit of the community in the town; To prioritise, develop, initiate, lead or support key projects in the town To disburse funds according to criteria set by the board to individuals and bodies who either live or operate in the area Currently we have approximately 50 organisations, ranging from youth groups to churches as members. The members elect 12 individuals to act as Trustees of the SCIO and these individuals take the lead in various projects which are deemed to be beneficial to Stonehaven. STP do not work alone and we have a good working relationship with Aberdeenshire Council, the Stonehaven & District Community Council other local rural partnerships and of course, the local community. The Constitution which is published on the website lays out how the STP is run.

4 Stonehaven Court Building
May 2014 ILM

5 Former Court Building The building has lain empty since May 2014 STP have been in correspondence with the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service for the past 18 months to take over the building by Community Asset Transfer. The building will be redeveloped internally to provide office space for a number of community organisations including Citizens Advice Bureau, Aberdeen Voluntary Action, PAMIS, KDP and K & D Befriending. Redevelopment will include a Changing Places Facility and a Community Cafe

6 Changing Places Facility
Changing Places facilities are for people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, as well as older people. There are no Changing Places facilities in Stonehaven at present. The closest are in Montrose and Aberdeen. By creating one in Stonehaven STP believe that more people will be encouraged to visit the Town and use the facilities.

7 Area in Former Court Building
The area STP would like to convert into a Changing Places Facility in the Former Court Building was used as a disabled toilet on the first floor. It is accessible by a disabled lift. The partition wall will need to be removed to make the room larger so that the equipment can be fitted Equipment, building alteration and installation costs are required

8 Plan of space now and proposed new room

9 Current Disabled Toilet Facility
The current disabled toilet facility is in a small room with little space around the toilet and no room for hoists and changing tables. The wall to the right of the toilet will be taken down to allow for proper Changing Places equipment to be installed.

10 Current Layout of room next to the disabled toilet which will be extended into to create a Changing Places Facility This room was used for storage. The partition wall can be taken down to extend the current disabled toilet and create a Changing Places facility.

11 Changing Places Facility
To use the toilet in safety and comfort, many people need to be able to access a Changing Places, which have more space and the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist.

12 Community Cafe It’s been suggested that Court Room 2 be used as a community café. The room is light with two doors leading in to it. It could be used daily as a café for visitors, people working in the building and their clients and in the evening and at weekends could be used for functions. There is currently no kitchen facility on the first floor so STP would like to install one to service the café in the jury room behind Court Room 1. To do this walls would have to be changed to allow new access to the room. Equipment for the kitchen, café and building and installation costs are required.
