2 Location & Climate Uganda is a land-locked country centralized in Africa– bordered by South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo Being located near Lake Victoria has provided Uganda with fertile land and a tropical climate Although Africa is usually preconceived as a dry, hot desert, Uganda proves that this is not true, with volcanoes, forested swamps, rainforests, and lakes Uganda has a very unique climate variety

3 Language & People Groups
Uganda gets its name from the Buganda Kingdom Two main ethnic groups: Nilotic North and Bantu South Uganda has 32 main languages that are spoken Swahili and English are the two official languages English is necessary for high office, political power, and those in command

4 Religion Religion is an important part of a country’s culture
Uganda’s religious heritage is tripartite: indigenous religions, Islam, and Christianity Islam & Christianity are the most popular 4/5’s the population is Christian (divided between Roman Catholics and Protestants)

5 Natural Resources & Politics
Uganda’s Natural Resources: Copper, Cobalt, Hydropower, Limestone, Salt, Arable land, and Gold Exports: Coffee, Fish and Fish Products, Tea, Cotton, Flowers, Horticultural products, & Gold Imports: Capital equipment, Vehicles, Petroleum, Medical Supplies & Cereals Uganda’s natural resources are the richest & most diverse in Africa Uganda is one of the world’s poorest countries due to its unstable economy

Many mission’s organizations are working to spread the Gospel of Christ through Uganda

7 Conclusion Landlocked Uganda has transformed itself from a country with a troubled past to one of relative stability Uganda obtained formal independence on October 9, 1962 President Museveni is the current president and is working to transform the country
