4. Wonders by McGraw Hill-English Language Arts
We will use our reading strategies to prepare for the PSSA assessment.
Vocabulary and spelling tests will be given on Friday as well as weekly comprehension assessments.
Please sign your child’s agenda and ELA papers
We will also have grammar lessons as well as writing assignments included in our ELA class
Students are asked to be prepared for switching classes and will not be permitted to return to their homeroom to retrieve items left behind.

5. How can you help?
Continue to listen to your child read & have book conversations at home. Have them read every night for 30 minutes
Check assignment books and the Important Folder
Ask what your child is learning and don’t accept “nothing” as a response

8. 5th Grade Highlights
5th Grade is planning a trip to Historical Philadelphia in the Spring. If you are interested in chaperoning, please know that chaperones are chosen based on first to submit the payment, most likely in March. *Clearances* will be needed to attend this trip as a chaperone
If they intend to bring something for a birthday treat it will be shared during lunch. We have a severe allergy tree nuts
