SAVE THE DATE Christmas Carol
Friday, December 2, 2016 2/12/2016 Newsletter 3, Connal Road, Off Herbert Macaulay way, Yaba, Lagos , , It has been a busy and exciting end of term. The school welcomed a 3-day working visit from another member of the GCA team. The time was spent working to support and reinforce our EYFS Learning area; to be on par with the International/British expectations. Blooming Greens is insistent on guarantying the school gets the best guidance from seasoned inspectors and we are delighted to have made the link!! Examinations are now completed, and we are preparing for the end of year programme. Term closure is on the 9th of December and we are looking forward to having parents join in the End of Term Christmas Carol festivities. Last week, the 23rd of November, the CEO and Head teacher had the privilege of visiting the first founding charity organisation in Nigeria - The Red Cross in Yaba; which has proudly been operating for over 55 years! The school is honoured to add this organisation to another of our charity destinations supporting the less fortunate and giving back to the community. At this time of the year, it is especially important to share good will; and what better way than to donate to innocent children in need... The school whole heartedly acknowledges the strangulating economic squeeze is real; nonetheless, we implore parents to give generously, any items that can be spared - food, used toys and clothing would mean so very much, and are a welcome addition to the school's hamper for the Red Cross. Join Blooming Greens School in spreading Christmas tidings and blessings to the less privileged. Have a wonderful Christmas holiday. Wishing you Peace and Joy of the festive season. GCA Visit Visit to Red Cross Swimming Club BGS has acquired a surface on-site swimming pool to enhance the safety of our pupils. From the start of next term in January, pupils in the swimming club will make use of the pool. Provision for a swimming instructor/life guard has been made to guide the pupils in their swimming lessons. Healthy Eating From next term, parents should ensure their children are brought to school with packed lunches as other alternatives of sending in food during school hours will not be encouraged or accepted with regards to the Health & Safety Policy. Also, parents should please encourage their children to eat healthy food. A well balanced diet with as much fruit as possible which is essential to the total well-being of the child. Birthdays & Photographs Parents who wish to have their children’s photograph(s) taken on their birthdays by the school photographer need to inform the school receptionist at least one week before the day to enable the photographer plan his schedule accordingly.
