Demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print. a. Recognize the distinguishing features of a sentence (e.g., first word, capitalization, ending punctuation). Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds

6 Reading Lessons Students have to meet a certain standard in order to move to the next lesson If students struggle with a lesson or unit I have made various classroom activities to help reinforce students learning Sight Word Bingo Categorizing by subjects Grouping like words

7 Mastery Tests/Checkouts
Every 5 lessons there is a mastery test

8 Each student has an assessment book

9 Assessment Examples Assessments are every 20 lessons

10 Data Chart Skills are broken down – this allows me to see and work on specific skills with students

11 Phonetic Spelling Listening and remembering what the teacher said

12 Establishing and Achieving Student Growth Goals
This program has allowed me to make short term goals for my students My students set goals for themselves in their reading as well This program has helped my early readers make progress in their reading
