Sight words are words that children should be able to memorize. They are not always spelled phonetically, therefore students should be able to recognize them quickly.

9. Sight Words
Each nine week grading period, there is a new list of 25 sight words. There are 100 total for the year.
By the end of the year, every child should be able to read at least 30 sight words in one minute.
In order to be promoted to first grade, they should at least know 30 words.
