2 How did WWI come to an end?
Allied forces advanced with more troops and supplies *thanks in part to U.S. Central powers break apart and call armistice. *Bulgaria, Turkey, Austria-Hungary, finally Germany 11/11/1918 at 11am.

3 What were the Fourteen Points?
Wilson's plan to put the world back together again after WWI 1.  no more secret treaties among nations 2.  freedom of seas for all 3.  promote free trade with lower or no tariffs 4.  all nations reduce arms to lowest point possible 5.  take the interests of colonies into consideration, not just the imperialist nations dealt with suggested boundary changes Create a League of Nations where nations could talk out their differences and, hopefully, avoid war.

4 What were the main provisions of the Treaty of Versailles?
created 9 new nations and shifted boundaries of other nations barred Germany from having an army forced Germany to give up all colonies and return Alsace-Lorraine to France forced Germany to pay reparations (war damages) of $33 billion to the Allies -paid off in 2010! made Germany sign a 'war-guilt' clause saying that they had sole responsibility for starting WWI created the League of Nations

felt it didn't provide appropriate punishments for the Central Powers

6 What were the main flaws in the Treaty of Versailles?
Germany was humiliated due to War Guilt Clause Germany could never raise enough money to pay the reparations bill - led to German resentment Russia upset since not invited to Versailles Peace Conference Treaty ignored claims of many former colonies who wanted their independence

7 Why were many Americans opposed to the U. S
Why were many Americans opposed to the U.S. signing the Treaty of Versailles? too harsh on Germany many felt that joining the League of Nations would force us to be constantly involved in world affairs.
