2 Answer Phillip can only eat foods with at least 3 letter words in them (pears, cream, carrots, bread, spinach). No apples, milk, hot dogs, soup or fish

5 Identification Four ways to qualify for GATE:
Exceeds Standards in math and language arts on the California Standards Tests (CAASP) for two consecutive years. (MAP tests at the 95th percentile) Exceeds standards in math or language arts for two consecutive years in the same subject may be eligible to take the OLSAT. (MAP tests at the 95th percentile) Recommended for testing by a parent and/or EC A parent of a student who does not qualify with CAASP scores or OLSAT scores may request a meeting with the GATE coordinator, administrator and any relevant individuals to discuss the student’s talents and/or giftedness.

6 Mission Statement for Gifted Education
It is the mission of the Hickman Community Charter District to provide our gifted students with the following: A challenging atmosphere in which students can develop their individual gifts and talents in a supportive environment, The environment to develop skills to handle their emotional and social needs, and An understanding of their responsibilities as citizens in a broad community.

7 Program Guidelines A minimum of two projects completed per school year. All class work and home school lessons must be up-to-date in order to use school time for working on independent projects. It is the student’s responsibility to complete projects on time.

T-shirts, Craft Fair, Calendars Family projects Family Tree, Planning reunions, recipe books In-Depth understanding of an Interest Hurricanes, Government, Literature, Science Biographies History (American Girl Party) Instructional Videos

Field Trips Students who complete the minimum number of projects will be eligible to participate in the end-of-the year learning trip. **Projects due April 24th.
