Goal: Diversity and inclusion across the Australian health and safety profession and in practice. 2017/18 Focus Area & Goal 2017/18 Measures of Success MENTORING – 2017 Tasks 1.1 June / July – W.I.S.H Launch function around the country through SIA branches & joint events (speed mentoring format) 1.2 June / July – Rolling mentor & mentee relationship profiles in print, social media etc. 1.3 September – Competition for the Top 10 Mentors of the Year (nominations from outside SIA?) 1.4 September – Male Champion of Change podcast & panel discussion (for inclusion in State based conferences) 1.5 November – Review the SIA Mentoring Material for suitability & effectiveness amongst WISH (target market). Events To launch the WISH network; to provide events as a forum to grow participation in the WISH network; to provide both networking and learning experiences; to provide a variety of environments in which participants can interact. Marketing and Social Media Using online, print and social media accounts, raise the profile of the WISH network Research and Thought Leadership Obtain an understanding of the current gender balance of participation and leadership representation in the OH&S profession; current position on gender pay equity in the OH&S profession; and the needs and interests of women who would like to enter, or are in, the OH&S profession that require further research. Mentoring To improve the value proposition for mentor / mentee participants; to increase and sustain participation rates; to raise the profile of male mentors (to female mentees (and vice versa) and their effective relationships; and to support and promote sponsorship. Events Establishment of a growing number of active participants in the WISH network in each state and territory Marketing and Social Media A heightened promotion of and increased collaboration / cross promotion to the WISH tasks and focus areas.  Research and Thought Leadership Conduct a gender survey and release initial thought leadership report on that research. Identify areas for further exploration by the WISH Network that arise through the findings of the gender survey. Mentoring 50% increase and sustained participation rates for Mentee / Mentor relationships Baseline – annual survey of awareness and acceptance / suitability of mentoring programs amongst Mentors and WISH. MENTORING – 2018 Tasks 2.1 February - Rolling Profiles of Mentees sharing their stories in print, social media etc. 2.2 March – Working party review of the effectiveness of the SIA mentoring program 2.3 March – Review of the Females Speakers Register – encourage female speakers to talk about their experience as a female leader (topics: workplace flexibility, maternity etc.) 2.4 June / July – Mentor Recruitment Drive. Consider reciprocal mentoring for non SIA (but complimentary) associations as a source of new mentors 2.5 June / July – Mentee recruitment drive (universities, TAFES etc.). 2.6 Promote / consider targets for Mentor Experience / Mentor Shadowing experience for YSP (to the mentor program).

EVENTS – 2018 Tasks March – W.I.S.H Research function around the country to be held to profile the research report and feedback from the Research and Thought Leadership team members following their 2017 survey 2.2 March – To hold a webinar conference in relation to the WISH Research Report to facilitate participation by any persons who were unable to attend the above events 2.3 TBA – To hold a W.I.S.H event including the W.I.S.H ‘AGM’ for committee selection and discussions each year together with the national conference 2.4 Ongoing – To ensure ongoing presence or holding of an event at each state and territory conference (as for 2017 plus add Tasmania and QLD)

Draft FAQs to accompany survey. 1.2 Jun – Identify research analysis partner (e.g. PhD student) 1.3 Jul – Launch functions around the country through SIA branches & joint events (initial speed mentoring event should also foreshadow the gender survey and the major national annual get together of the WISH Network) 1.4 Aug/Sept – Hold first AGM and major national get together of the WISH Network. Ask Network to provide feedback on gender survey questions.
