2. Charter or Rights and Freedoms
Describes the Rights and Freedoms of Canadian citizens.
The Rights and Freedoms are organized into different categories.
In a democracy, Rights are about things you are specifically allowed to do, and they provide protection to the people of a country by their government.
In a democracy, Freedoms are things people can do with out interference from others or the government.
