What can you do to help? Boost their confidence Talk to them about what they’re studying… hopefully they’ll talk back Get them to speak to their teachers (or me) if they’re unsure about anything

Test your child on quotations and plot – this is the most important thing that can be done outside of the classroom Make links between the plot/characters and the context of the novel/play English Language: Read Read Read! Any text can be useful – it’s about being exposed to a wide range of texts and being comfortable with picking out key information and commenting on it, as well as stealing ideas for your own writing
