Last Updated: 5/22/18

2 Introduction to Candidate-Facing GDPR Configurable Text
On May 25, 2018, the EU’s next generation of data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”), went into effect. The GDPR aims to strengthen the security and protection of personal data and replaces the 1995 European Union Data Protection Directive. The GDPR imposes requirements both on “controllers” (those who determine the purposes and means of processing personal data, such as iCIMS customers) and “processors” (those who process personal data on behalf of a controller, such as iCIMS). After the April monthly release, customers can prepare for GDPR by configuring their candidate-facing messaging for a variety of new fields, described in the April Release Notes. Review the release notes for information about the configurable titles, messages, lists, and other fields that user admins may configure in preparation for GDPR.

3 Introduction to Candidate-Facing GDPR Configurable Text
This presentation is a supplement to the April Release Notes designed to allow a side-by-side comparison between the text a candidate may see and the settings in System Configuration that control that text. To allow for greater readability and to simplify this resource, note that this supplemental resource is not designed to illustrate: The full page context for the candidate experience. Every page on which a message may display to candidates. Configurations that may enable or disable text from displaying to candidates. The images in this presentation include sample text and settings for illustration purposes only. It is the responsibility of the customer: To provide the correct text for all labels and messages described. To determine the correct settings when available to the user admin with the May monthly release.

4 Introduction to Candidate-Facing GDPR Configurable Text
Important Note: With the May Monthly Release, user admins may ensure their messaging is configured correctly and then enable GDPR settings. For additional information, refer to the May Release Notes. After the candidate-facing GDPR messaging is configured and candidate-facing GDPR messaging settings are enabled, the user admin may wish to test the candidate experience. To verify this messaging, the user admin may wish to create a test candidate. Note that a user admin cannot trigger the candidate GDPR experience through use of the Log In As feature.
