Good afternoon my name is Amanda .Today I would like to present about Tourism and Kimono in Kyoto :imaginaries and modification For our research we used the text the old document file and field interview.

2 Why Tokyo has been popular for tourist?
Kyoto is the Center of Japanese Traditional Culture such as… Japanese Traditional cuisine Japanese Traditional architecture Japanese Traditional costume Center of Buddhism beliefs Festivals Even today, Kyoto is the cultural center of Japan, and continues to be loved by Japanese and people around the world. Becauce of Kyoto is the former capital of japan ,there are many Japanese traditional culture ex. Architectures of Buddhism temples and shrines tea ceremony festivals traditional costum like a Kimono.

investigate the influence of Kyoto images to tourist activity of dressing Kimono. examine the evolution of both tourists and Kimono rentals in Kyoto

4 Why does Kyoto become the popular city for tourists to visit and wearing Kimono?

5 The Result from this study
1. increasing numbers of Kimono rentals in Kyoto 2. Transformation of the ownership of Kimono rentals in Kyoto into Chinese In the past time the owners of Kimono renting shop are Japanese older but nowadays become the young people especially Chinese.

6 3. Increasing number of young tourists, both Japanese and foreign tourists to wear Kimono in Kyoto especially Chinese, Korean , and Taiwan tourists. Young tourists like to wear Kimono in Kyoto Because of the old town atmosphere in Kyoto which is suitable for wearing Kimono Young tourists wearing Kimono as the experience at least once in their life time For the past time the person to wear the Kimono are the high class people ,They wear in the special occasions such as Birthday wedding ceremony or to visit the temple but nowadays people wear the Kimono are young tourist. It become the Pop culture because of young tourists they dress in Kimono take a picture and share in social network. Another reason because of the old town of Kyoto atmosphere is suitable for wearing the Kimono and walking around the old town Zone and to experience wearing Kimono in Kyoto.

7 4. Increasing numbers of tourists in Kyoto affect to the Kimono design especially for Chinese, Korean and Taiwan tourists. 4. Kimono which used to produce in Kyoto in the past are now imported from China, Korean and Taiwan due to demanding of tourists We found that Chinese tourists like to wear flower and red color style, Koreans like to wear pinky designed Kimono and Taiwan tourists like to wear colorful Kimono design. But Japanese tourist like to wear classic Kimono style and spend more value on Kimono rather than Chinese Korean and Taiwan tourists.Futher just a few western tourist come to wear Kimono in Kyoto.We found that Kimono which use to produce in Kyoto in the past are now imported from China,Korean and Taiwan due to the demanding of tourists as mentioned such as Chinese Korean and Taiwan furture,the Kimono from that countries are cheaper than the Kimono which produced in Kyoto,this effect to the price of kimono renting which made originally in japan and other countries.

Increasing numbers of tourists demand to wear Kimono affects not only to the increasing numbers of Kimono rentals in Kyoto, but also variety of Kimono style, design and price available for tourists in Kyoto. 9 Conclusions It can be concluded that the images of Kyoto as the former capital of Japan can attract more tourists both domestic and foreign tourists to visit. As a former capital of Japan, Kyoto became the center of Japanese traditional culture in Japan. In this way, Kimono, as part of Japanese culture became popular to wear in the old town corner, for instance, Gion and Kiyomizu area in Kyoto. As mentioned, Kimono became into the cultural commodity of old Kyoto images to commoditize to tourists who visit Kyoto in present.
