3 Parts of a url Uniform Resource Locator is the address of an Internet file, and is usually in this format, made up of four parts

Parts of a url Protocol://Server/Path/Filename Protocol – the name of the Internet Protocol. A protocol s the way of doing something. In this case, a set of instructions that allows your computer to access files

Parts of a url Protocol://Server/Path/Filename Server – (host name): the computer on which the file is located. Path (directory hierarchy) in which the file name can be found.

PRIVATE NETWORKS An intranet connects employees inside your company An extranet connects your employees to vendors and/or customers. INTRANET EXTRANET

19 TYPES OF network An Intranet is much like a micro-version of the Internet with a company or organization. Authorized users with a company can use the company’s Intranet to find information easily and quickly. Intranets use the same browsers and software use the Internet.
