How To Get To Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

3 From the 401: Exit at Waverley Rd. (exit 431) in Bowmanville
From the 401: Exit at Waverley Rd. (exit 431) in Bowmanville. Follow the signs. Go straight north on RR#57 for about 17 kilometers. Turn right on to Durham Rd. 20. Keep going and you'll reach the track in about five minutes. From the 407 / #7: Highway 7 becomes RR#3 in Brooklyn. RR #3 jogs to the left and then the right at Grandview St. N. Continue traveling along RR#3 until you come to RR#57 and follow the above directions.

4 Obtaining Credentials & Gate Passes
You MUST stop into the Registration Office, inside gate 3, to obtain your working credentials. All workers should report to the desk marked “Workers". Have your ORP-ST hard card or other photo ID ready to present to the credential staff. You will be asked to sign a waiver releasing Canadian Tire Motorsport Park from damages. PLEASE READ. After you have signed the waiver you will be given your gate pass and credentials card / wrist band. It MUST remain with you at all times when in the park. It is your pass to enter restricted areas during racing (mock grid, gasoline alley, pit row). Without it you can be denied access to any of the working areas by security or police. NOTE Errors do happen. If your name is not on the pass list at registration, DO NOT PANIC … Call Dave at (416) He will speak to the registration staff and get you on the list.

5 Entering The Park Parking Guest Passes
Once you have obtained your credentials and gate pass from registration then you may enter the park via the pass gate ( Gate #3 ). Parking Go through the tunnel and follow it to the right. Parking is available on the grass on the right hand side, before the stop sign … map later. Guest Passes Guests may pick up their pass at the Registration Office following the same procedure that staff do in obtaining their passes.

6 Infield Care Center ( ICC )
Camping Areas If you are camping at the track we will show you the designated area. Facilities Washrooms and showers are located throughout the park. Infield Care Center ( ICC ) The infield care center this season is at a temporary location, located in moch grid. Setup Areas Located beside the ICC .. This is where you will meet in the mornings to swipe in with your ORPST ID card, get your uniform and help set up the trucks.

7 Starting Time You are expected to be at the setup area 1 hour prior to cars going on track, to help set up the vehicles. This time will be given to you by the call out person when confirming your attendance as it does fluctuate. On busy weekends there may be a lineup at registration .. Make sure you give yourself enough time so you are not late arriving at the lockup. The more people we have helping in the morning to set up all the vehicles, the faster the job gets done. Safety 1 or Safety 2 will give you your assignment for the day.

ORP-ST personnel are identified by our fire suits. These suits are provided to you at the beginning of the weekend. A t-shirt and shorts should be worn under your jump suit. Worn suits are washed between weekends. At the start of the shift check with the coordinator for uniform issue. These uniforms are numbered and must be signed out at the beginning of the shift and checked in at the end. FIRE FIGHTERS and PARAMEDICS wear different color jackets. If you are working more than 1 day of a weekend, you will keep your race suit over night. If only using for one day please return it to be washed. These uniforms are your responsibility once signed out. Please ensure you sign the suit in at the end of racing. Please ensure that you obtain a uniform and are changed ASAP in the morning. Other Equipment Other pieces of uniform or equipment that we highly recommend you bring along are listed as follows: Steel toe / shank ambulance boots for your safety, work style gloves for extrication, body Substance Protection (Nitrile) gloves. Fire hood / Balaclava

10 Other Equipment A belt, scissors, holster and stethoscope.
A warm jacket / other clothing (sweatshirt / pants to wear under your suit on colder days). Rain gear, as we are blessed with rain from time to time and continue to race even if it means getting a little wet. Always expect rain even on the sunniest days. A hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Please note that if you are wearing a coat or rain coat that has markings on it (Municipal / Regional Ambulance crests etc.) we request that you remove the markings while working on the track. We are not responsible for any damage to uniform issued clothing from your regular service.

12 Racing Assignments The morning briefing will commence once all staff are in uniform and vehicle checks are complete. The briefing will take place at the setup area. The following information will be covered in the briefing: 1. Crew and vehicle assignments 2. Radio and landline issues. Any issues from the previous day. Any specific related driver medical information IE: Deaf driver. . Once your vehicle and radio check have been completed you are to report to your assigned station. Once on station please radio control via the control radio informing them that you are on station and then radio race medical via the medical radio as a final check.

13 End of the Day End of the Weekend
Radios must be returned for charging. Anyone not returning for racing must turn in their uniforms. Vehicles must be cleaned of garbage and personal equipment before being secured for the night. End of the Weekend Radios and suction units must be returned for charging. All equipment from all vehicles must be stored and locked up. All uniforms must be returned and people will be asked to clean them before next race … we need your help on this ! Vehicles must be cleaned of garbage and personal equipment before being parked and secured. You are responsible for putting your vehicle’s equipment away !

The restaurant usually opens at 07:00 hrs and has a variety of hot breakfast items. It may not be open in time in the mornings. Lunches Lunches are provided for all track workers. The lunch is a box lunch consisting of sandwiches, pop & a chocolate bar / snack. Note that the lunches provided are small and you may wish to bring some of your own food to fill you up. There is a fridge to store food and a microwave is available to warm food up. Some lunch breaks are very short, do not assume you will have time to go to the restuarant. You will be told what time your crew needs to be back on station. If you are told the on station time is 13:30 hrs this refers to the time you must be in your vehicle at your assigned location prepared for racing to commence. Normally we must be on station 10 minutes prior to cars being released.

Commitment It is extremely important that if you volunteer for a race that you show up. The racing teams depend upon us being at the track. As we are all volunteers with the responsibility of providing safety and emergency care to the competitors and their teams a no-show of personnel makes the job of providing emergency coverage for the racer's a difficult task. If you have signed up for a race and are unable to attend, PLEASE contact the callout person as early as possible. If you find yourself unable to attend the morning of the race PLEASE call (416) at least 60 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF RACING. If you are running late but are still coming .. Call and let us know ! 25 Commitment Call outs start by approximately 3 weeks before a race weekend. Season time table available on the website. - Don’t commit unless you are coming for sure. - Our list must be in 1 1/2 weeks prior to a race … after this date we can not add guests. If you are available last minute, and we still need staff, let us know .. We can get you on the list. - We do not always finish on time, assume we will run later that scheduled ! A reminder that everyone on the team is expected to be available for 9 days over the summer. Our season includes 9 race weekends which is 25 days total on track. 6 Days – Major Events 3 Days – Regional Events

30 IMPORTANT If you go in to edit your account … ONLY change the password. If you need to change your address … us and tell us the change .. We will do it for you .. Your address is used in a number of different programs and all of them will need to be updated. CRITICAL: Please do not change the format of your name in either your “Edit Your Account” section or when signing up for an event. It is that way for the back end of the website when we are compiling our attendance list for registration. EXAMPLE: John F-Doe* F - Indicates he is a fire fighter * - Indicates he is new to the team

32 SIGNING UP FOR AN EVENT We continue to have a problem with people not receiving s that go to certain servers such as hotmail.com or gmail.com .. You can usually find our s in your junk folder if you aren’t receiving them .. Please check. IMPORTANT: In an effort to track who may be having issues, everyone is expected to sign into the website when the callouts happen and let us know if you are coming or not. You will see 2 sign up forms per event in the Event Registration section of the website … ATTENDING THE EVENT or UNABLE TO ATTEND. Sometimes there may be more than 1 callout in the process .. Please be sure to select the correct event. CRITICAL: No matter which form you submit, you will receive an IMMEDIATE confirming that the form was submitted. If you don’t get an , please go back into the website and check the form that you filled out.
