Over the next five years, we project 20+ principal vacancies. In preparation for the future need of school leaders, we must: Think strategically about our pipeline Be proactive about leadership development Involve all current district leaders in our efforts.

6 Future Administrators New Principals and Administrator
Programs in Detail Future Administrators Aspiring Principals New Principals and Administrator Induction Audience -Non-administrators -Already possesses a Certificate of Eligibility/ Preliminary Admin Credential Current Year 2 or Year 3 Assistant Principals 1st & 2nd Year Principals Program -5 days of attendance and participation in workshops -5 days shadowing a mentor Assistant Principal -Coaching visits -Goal-setting process documentation -5 days of half-day workshops -3 days of shadowing a mentor principal / 1 day of shadowing SPED -Weekly contact w/mentor -Change of Principal Workshop (summer) -Support meetings -Weekly contact with coach (veteran principal)

7 The Ideal Candidate Possesses Preliminary Administrative Credential
Considered an outstanding teacher/counselor Has formal leadership experience at school site(s) Has both expertise and general knowledge Demonstrates an exceptional ability to work with adults Understands the time commitment needed to be an administrator Wants to be an AP/VP, and eventually principal Include Preliminary Admin Credential

8 Documentation & Selection
Application (via Google Form), resume, letter of intent, verification of your Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and recent evaluation hand-delivered to the Leadership Development Office by Friday, September 18th (4:00pm) Recommendations- Site administrators will be contacted by the Leadership Development Office Writing Assessment – September 21st 7:30-9am OR 3:30-5pm Group Interview- Oct. 1st & 2nd (times TBA) Program Acceptance Notification: Oct. 12th Mention paper-screening of resumes and letters of intent by scoring panel. Then contacted for writing test time & group interview. Mentions outside candidate 1:1 interview and writing test at that time. Mentions spring promotional interviews Mar. 31 for inside candidates which will include individual and group interview.
