Election 2016: Taking Action

Voter Education Young people have engaged in voter education efforts. They have created voter guides like the one pictured here with information ranging from how to register, who can register, where to register to who is running and some information about the candidates.

Voter Registration Young people across the country lead voter registration drives to register their peers and members of their community to vote.

Debate Watching Students host debate watch parties at their schools and homes to raise the level of awareness about the candidate’s position and to engage in discourse around the issues at stake in the upcoming election.

Parades to the Polls Students have led early vote trips to have peers vote together. They can be parades with marching bands, as pictured here, or simply groups of young people walking together to vote.

Election Judging Young people have worked the polls on election day in 41 states.

Campaigning Even if young people are not old enough to vote, they can actively campaign to get a candidate elected. Watch the video at the link to see youth campaigning in action.
