2. Bacteria are prokaryotic, single-celled organisms.
Bacteria are classified in two kingdoms:
Archaebacteria
Eubacteria

3. Archaebacteria
primitive life forms, which lack a protein found in other bacteria.

4. Methanogens (make methane gas) O2 is toxic to them.
Examples:
Methanogens (make methane gas) O2 is toxic to them.
Extreme Halophiles live in very salty environments.
Thermoacidophiles live in high temperatures like volcanic vents.

5. Eubacteria are classified by shape:
bacilli (rod shape)
cocci (round shape)
spirilla (spiral shape)
strepto-(long chains)
staphlo-(clusters)
