She had hoped her hand held tablet would be waiting under the tree to be opened. They flew so quickly off the shelves when they went on sale last week, but she didn’t get there in time. When she asked her parents if they bought it, they teased, “definitely maybe.” On Christmas morning, Diane’s parents handed her the first gift. She ripped the paper open like a misbehaving puppy. She screamed, “Ahhh!” when she saw the tablet peek out from the wrapping paper.

Short Story Unit Final: Theme Essay!
Today, is a drafting day. You have four goals: Finish writing your introductions and conclusions if you still haven’t. Transfer your outline to a new document titled “rough draft.” Make sure you remove all elements (numbers, spacing, etc.) of your outline – this should look like a normal essay. Check out the handouts on embedding quotations and transitions – make sure your essay makes good use of both techniques. Continue working on your IXL for the week: F.3 and F.4 in 10th Grade Skills
