1 Social Media Training Plan
Every generation of workers do not learn in the same method. Younger generations, which are more attuned to technology and social media prefer these tools when it comes to trainings. In order to be an effective training program, the program must be geared to all generations involved. Some times this can be tricky. This presentation will give an idea of different tactics that can be used to assist an organization in reaching the younger generation. Oslynn Lewis

2 Adult Learning Principles
Adult Learning Theory Andragogy Program based & Collaborative Equality between leaner and teacher Adult Learning Principles Adults are internally motivated/self-directed Adults bring knowledge and life experience Adults are goal oriented 4. Adults are relevancy oriented 5. Adults are practical 6. Adult learners like to be respected (Adult Learning Theories, 2011, p. 1) “Adult learning theories provide insight into how adults learn, and can help instructors be more effective in their practice and more responsive to the needs of the learners they serve,” (Adult Learning Theories, 2011, p. 1). Andragogy is an adult learning theory that focuses on the value of the learning process. The approaches that it uses is program based, collaborative, and equality between the learner and the teacher. There are six adult learning principles, which are listed above. These principles can be used to assist in facilitating student learning. These principles can assist a facilitator is understanding what motivates their students, in this case the employee who they are training. The younger generation needs technology to keep their attention focused on training. A regular presentation that incorporates video or training that can be done on the computer as a class is also a good idea when trying to incorporate the interest of the younger generation.

3 Social Media & Social Learning
Better connection to peers (co-workers) Supports and enhance trainings Allows active participation for learners Allows students enhanced knowledge Allows connections to other co-workers in other offices Brings systems and organization in better alignment Social media and social leaning has many benefits. It allows co-workers to have a better connection, which will enhance teamwork and provide a friendlier working environment. Social media and social learning also supports and enhance trainings. Instead of boring trainings where the facilitator stands and lectures for hours, trainings can be interactive. This will meet the needs of all generations if properly trained. It allows active participation from trainees. Web 2.0 applications can provide trainees with enhanced trainings and allow participation. These applications also allow employees to connect with workers to connect with others globally. Ultimately, the system and organization will be in better alignment. Social media can also assist employees in attracting new clients. “Publicly open social media sites provide students with access to more information and experiences than they would get in a closed environment alone. If properly facilitated and framed, such expanded exposures can benefit student learning by creating more connections across boundaries and over time,” (Adult Learning Theories, 2011).

4 Ethical Considerations
Do not be misleading Do not solicit Be careful of confidential information Be mindful of who you communicate with It is important remember to be ethical when using social media. There are many ethical rules that should be followed. No information that is shared should be misleading. Posting misleading information can lead to trouble. It is important to be straight forward and to the point and only sharing truthful information. There should not be any solicitation when it comes to employees posting during work hours. An employee should not ever post any type of confidential information. Confidential information can get in the wrong hands and many times leaking this information can lead to termination. This is why an employees should always be mindful of who they are communicating with and what information they are given out.

5 Ethical consideration 2
Do not assume Be careful of what is said and how it can be interpreted Be careful of sites visits An employee should never assume when it comes to postings. If the information is not fully understood it is best that questions be asked. If necessary, ask the same question more than one to guarantee the appropriate information if learned. Another good ethical rule to consider is to be careful of what is said and how it can be interpreted. Social media is a place where it is easy to misunderstand common phrases and simple sentences. And lastly, be careful of sites visited because you never know when the IT department is checking up on you.

6 Family education Training Plan
Incorporate trainings (podcasts, interactive activities, etc.) Allow for portion to be completed on their own Incorporate discussions Questions & Answers When trying to attract the younger generation, as stated earlier, it is a good idea to incorporate technology, social media, and Web 2.0 applications. The trainings should be interactive and allow the trainees to do a portion of the training of their own. Once the training is completed, the results can be fed back to the facilitator as the trainees finish their portions. Then allow for discussion time. This will draw in the older generation and give the younger generation time to learn from their peers. Before the training ends there should be a time for questions and answers to help everyone fully understand and absorb the information that was learned during training.
