3. ON THE WATER TRAINING
Begins Tuesday February 20th!!

4. Monday – Friday 4:00 – 6:00 (time may adjust after daylight savings)
Saturdays – 8:00 – 11:00 (or as specified by their coach)
On the water practices begin!

5. Weekday Carpool to the Water
Carpool meets at Robinson Door #6 (by the erg shed).
Driven TO the water only. Families must arrange their own pick up from Sandy Run.
To be a driver: Look for sign up link in the quick catches (earn 2 service hours per trip)
Rowers sign up separately: Must be on the sign up by 5:00pm the Sunday before the week starts.
You should arrive by 3:30. The last car leaves by 3:45.

Rower drop off for practice is in lot B
Rower parking for practice is in lot D
Robinson is in boat house #3
Walk to the grandstands can be accessed from lot C (shuttle drop off area)
15 mph speed limit – STRICTLY ENFORCED!!

7. REGATTA SHUTTLE SERVICE
Shared shuttle bus service at regattas with neighboring crew programs
Pick up is at the Silver Brook Elementary School (9350 Crosspointe Dr, Fairfax Station, VA 22039)
Drop off in lot C
Runs approximately every 15 minutes.
Allow 1 hour from the time you leave your home to the time you or your rower needs to be at the boathouse or grandstands.

8. WHAT TO EXPECT Expect delays….
Novice rowers may not get on the water every day, some may have land training with a coach.

9. WHAT YOUR ROWER WILL NEED
Long and short spandex pants
Lots of layers: Long sleeve spandex top, fleece, water resistant shell
Socks: warm, dark colors, extras! (they get wet)
Slides and sneakers
Hats: knit and visor styles
Sunglasses and sunscreen
Small towel, extra clothes to change into
Refillable water bottle
Healthy snack for after practice

10. SANY RUN PARENT TOUR
SATURDAY MARCH 17TH AT 9:30AM

11. PASTA PARTIES AT BRION’S GRILL
Starting March 23rd at 7:30pm
Optional event for all rowers
Catered meal in private room
Parent’s welcome to come and enjoy dinner in the main restaurant
Pre-selling tickets for $15 each week at practice
Brion’s Grill will give us back 10% of all Crew sales!
Each Friday night before regatta weekend

12. SERVICE HOURS
Starting February 16th you need to earn 75 hours to go towards next season ( )
Volunteer driven organization!!
Will be charged $15 per service hour not completed
DON’T WAIT to get involved!
VASRA volunteer positions (At the regattas)
Home food tent volunteers
Food donations ($10 of donations = 1 service hour)
Spring break
Board member positions (6.25 hours/month: July – June)
Coordinator positions
Scrip (1 hour per $10 in REBATE the club receives)
