1. MY FAVOURITE COUNTRY:  Malta is the smallest EU country.
 It is long 27 km and wide 15 km.
 It’s in the Mediterranean sea, 90 km from Sicily.
 Malta’s archipelago has 5 islands but on 3 of them people are living: on Malta, Gozo and Comino.

2. CAPITAL CITY  Malta’s capital city is La Valletta.
 It is also a grand harbor.
Valletta got the name from one of
the Knights of Malta.
All buildings in Valletta and Malta
are from yellow stone.

3. National language and ex British colony
National language is Maltese, which is close to Arabian.
 English is also official language because Malta was a British colony for 150 years, till 1964.
Like in Britain, they drive on left side of the road and have red telephone boxes.
 The symbol of Malta is yellow old fashion bus. These buses are made on the island and operate in public transport.

4. Maltese people Maltese people are dark, with dark eyes.
Maltese women are the lowest in
Europe and Maltese men are second
the lowest after Portuguese men.
They come from old Phoenicians and
then mixed with Greeks, Romans and
Arabs.
In Malta live under half of million
of people.

5. Religion Maltese are Catholics. There are 365 churches on the island.
In the primary school boys and girls go to separate schools mostly, just in some private schools are mixed together.
There was no divorce till 2011.

6. Geography There is no river or lake in Malta.
For drinking water they use wells and the water from the sea after taking off the salt.
The highest hill has 253 m.
They have mild winters and hot summers.
Most of the cost on Gozo are the cliffs.
The island Gozo had famouse Azure window, which collapsed on this March 2017.

7. Malta in summer time
Malta is popular summer resort for British, Germans, Russians etc.
Teenagers from all around the world go there during summer to learn English in their schools.
The sea’s beautiful azure color is paradise for divers.
There is aqua park with dolphins.
During August there are many festivals and fireworks on the streets.

8.  It has very long, flat, white hair. Its weight is from 1.4 to 3 kg.
 Cute Maltese dog got its name on the Maltese island, where sailors got it from Egypt.
