April 2018 Admission Requirements Requirements can be broken down into two categories. The first is the Core Class Requirements Core Class Requirements 4 years of Math-this includes algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and a course that is college algebra or higher. 4 years of English-intensive reading and writing experiences. 3 years of Natural Science-biology, chemistry, physics, or earth science. 3 years of Social Science-American and or world history, American government, the 3rd can be any history or social science discipline. 2 years of Foreign Language-in the same language.

April 2018 Admission Requirements Performance Requirements 2.0 GPA for overall cumulative and last term for general admissions Architecture is a 3.0 GPA Business is a 2.5 GPA Engineering is a 2.5 GPA Public Affairs and Community Service is a 2.5 GPA Performance levels make up the other half of the Admission Requirements

April 2018 Admission Deadlines Scholarship Deadlines March 1st is the deadline for in-state scholarships for Fall May 1st is the deadline for out-of-state scholarships for Fall October 1st is the deadline for in-state scholarships for Spring December 1st is the deadline for out-of-state scholarships for Spring General Deadlines The May 1st and December 1st deadlines are really just suggestions for transfer students. They may still be considered for admissions if the deadline has passed.

April 2018 College of Business Changes Business Writing (BSAD 220) will be enforced as a prerequisite for Business Intermediate classes. Students should take the equivalent at community college if it is available Helpful Hints Take the equivalent of ECON 215 (Business Statistics) rather than STAT 218 (Elements of Statistics) Prioritize math requirement. Take calculus (equivalent of MATH 104 or 106) before transferring.

April 2018 College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) Helpful Hints Athletic Training is ALWAYS a 4-year program; regardless of how many hours the student transfers. Professional Education courses generally will require 3 years of course work at UNL. That may be reduced by working closely with CEHS advising staff. Contact them early. April 2018 Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts (FPA) Changes Art History Major may be impacted by budget cuts. The Directing and Management option in Theatre is on hiatus indefinitely. Contact Todd Cuddy in the department office for updates. Proposed new interdisciplinary major – Emerging Media Arts anticipated Fall It would absorb the current Film and New Media major. (Requires 3.0 GPA, On-line portfolio)

April 2018 Helpful Hints FPA students need to have some general education (ACE) courses to take at UNL to maintain full- time status. Cannot take a full load of just major classes. Art and Graphic Design majors—Be mindful that half of the major courses must be taken at UNL. Visit with FPA Advising staff early to set up sequence of courses to take at community college. April 2018 College of Public Affairs & Community Service (PACS) Students transferring to the Pre-Criminology and Criminal Justice (PCCJ) program may transfer with a 2.0 GPA.  Students must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA to move into the upper division CRCJ program.(Previously students transferring to the PCCJ program needed a 2.5 GPA) The math requirement for students entering for will be minimum MATH 101.  MATH 100A will no longer apply toward the BCCJ degree.
