2. Interesting Facts
San Diego de Alcala was known as The Plymouth Rock of the West Coast.
It was possible for historians to figure out what kind of plants they grew there by looking at the adobe bricks.
This was what the cattle brand looked like.

3. The Battle
In 1775 several hundred Kamia (Yuma) Indians attacked the mission.
In the battle they killed Father Jayme who called out to the indians as they were about to attack the mission “Love god, my children.”
In the end the people of the mission won the battle.

4. Mission Entrance
This is the entrance to mission San Diego de Alcala.

5. Garden Entrance
This is the entrance to the garden. The garden had many trees and various kinds of flowers.

6. Church
This is the church. It is one of the biggest buildings at the mission.

7. Padres’ Quarters
This is the padres’ quarters. It was very small. This room was suspected to be two rooms.
