8 IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WAITLISTS
Waitlist Overrides IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WAITLISTS A waitlist override will be issued to you if/when a seat becomes available. You are not automatically moved from Waitlist to Roster. A waitlist override notification will appear on your Patriot Web account if/when a seat has become available to you. In addition, an notification will be sent to your Mason account if/when you have been issued a waitlist override. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DAILY.

9 Viewing the waitlist override
Select this option to view Override Notifications

10 Waitlist Overrides An override notification, which holds your seat in the class, will appear on this screen when a seat becomes available to you. Waitlist overrides expires after 72 hours. Select Register, Add or Drop Classes to Register for the Course.

11 Waitlist Overrides After receiving the waitlist override:
1. Write Down the CRN 2. Select Web Drop 3. Then Submit Changes Remember…you are in the process of moving from waitlist to roster. Dropping yourself from the waitlist, AFTER YOU HAVE VERIFIED THAT YOU HAVE AN OVERRIDE, is safe!

12 Waitlist Overrides After dropping from the waitlist:
1. Type in the CRN 2. Then Submit Changes to register for the class

13 Important Waitlist Reminders
Not all courses offer a waitlist. Your waitlist position does not guarantee issuance of a waitlist override. Waitlist overrides are issued as students drop from classes. Multiple overrides could be issued simultaneously. A first position on the waitlist does not necessarily mean that a seat has become available to you. You may need to wait for an additional student to drop the class. DO NOT drop from the Waitlist until you have received a Waitlist Override. Waitlist overrides expire and are removed if they are not used within the 72 hour time period. If the override is removed you will be required to add back to the waitlist. Your waitlist position will most likely change. You must check you Mason account daily. The last waitlist overrides are issued 3 days (72 hours) before the semester begins. All waitlists are purged on the first day of the semester.
