Wilson’s fourteen points

The Treaty was not harsh enough

It was a piece of revenge.” (A member of the Reichstag) The Treaty was too harsh “ This is not a peace treaty, it is an armistice for twenty years.” (Marshal Foch) The Treaty was not harsh enough “It is a very severe settlement with Germany, but there is not anything in it that she did not earn.” (President Wilson) The Treaty was fair
