-many organ systems are responsible for maintaining homeostasis in the body

-homeostasis can be broken down into two parts:
“homeo-” or “homo-” means “same”
“stasis” means “state”
-homeostasis in the body is the process of maintaining a steady balance or a normal range
ex: -making sure you get the right amount of
oxygen and nutrients
-removing waste materials
-shivering when cold, sweating when hot

Homeostasis Involving Several Systems
-the circulatory system is
an important part of
maintaining homeostasis
in the body
-the circulatory system
takes in nutrients (from the
digestive system) and
oxygen (from the
respiratory system) and
delivers it to the rest of the
body

Gas Exchange in the Lungs
-In the lungs, oxygen is transferred into the blood stream via alveoli and delivered to cells via the circulatory system for cellular respiration
-At cells, carbon dioxide is
exchanged and brought to
the lungs to be expelled

6. Homeostasis
Develop an analogy for homeostasis. It can be anything, as long as it relates to homeostasis. You can draw a picture, write a story, create an advertisement…anything you can think of. Just make sure to explain how your analogy fits with homeostasis.
Remember, homeostasis is the process of keeping things the same within the body. Your analogy should represent a similar idea.
