2. What is Animal Cruelty?
Animal cruelty is when you are cruel to animals. It can happen to any type of animal, and anyone can do it. Animal cruelty is illegal, but people still do it anyway. It is very sad people do this to animals.

3. Why is Animal Cruelty Bad?
Animal cruelty is bad because it can hurt the animals very badly. It can even kill them! It is also bad because the animals can be very sad. It can make them angry, and they might not want to be with a human ever again!!

4. The Durham County Government
The Durham County government says that “All animals shall be treated under sanitary humane conditions at all times.” They also say “It is not considered animal cruelty to house an animal outdoors. However, they must be provided adequate food, a constant supply of fresh, clean water, and adequate shelter from the weather at all times.

5. All kinds of People, All kinds of Animals
Any kind of person could commit the crime of animal cruelty. It doesn’t matter what they look like, what race they are, or what gender they are. Animal cruelty can happen to any kind of animal. It can be a turtle, a cat, a dog, a cow or even a chicken! It could happen to hamsters, rabbits, even mice!
