1 Stay on pace so you do not have a lot to finish at the end.
Periodic Table Packet Project Due Date – Wednesday, June 7th You will create and color-code 6 different periodic tables to help identify the trends and patterns in the Periodic Table of Elements. You will use the tables you create, your notes at the end of the project to take a TEST. The Classwork Schedule is posted online and on front board. If you miss a class, make up the work another day. Stay on pace so you do not have a lot to finish at the end. You may only color your table using colored-pencils. DO NOT go ahead of schedule – I will post tips/hints each day that you will need for some tables. Blank Tables and Daily Directions will be posted on my website

2 Periodic Table of Elements
The periodic table organizes the elements in a particular way. A great deal of information about an element can be gathered from its position in the period table. For example, you can predict with reasonably good accuracy the physical and chemical properties of the element. You can also predict what other elements a particular element will react with chemically. Understanding the organization and plan of the periodic table will help you obtain basic information about each of the 118 known elements.

3 Today you will begin your “Periodic Packet” assignment:
READ Chapter 4 – Section 2 “Organizing the Elements” pp using the “Prentice Hall/Physical Science Textbook” (Classroom Textbooks). You will create notes using the notes template provided for each section. You must answer using complete sentences or you will not receive credit for the notes. You can find scans of the textbook sections on my website in case you don’t finish in class. These notes will become part of your packet and what you use to take the TEST at the end of the unit, so make sure you do a thorough job.
