1 Revelation 19 The Heavenly Singers

2 The Great Multitude in Heaven
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Revelation 19:1-2

3 The Great Multitude in Heaven
not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5

4 The Great Multitude in Heaven
And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17:5 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Revelation 19:2

5 God is praised because:
For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Revelation 19:2

6 God is praised because:
Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” Genesis 18:25

7 The Heavenly Hosts

8 Revelation 19:4-5 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”

9 John had already had a vision of heavenly worship.
Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. Revelation 4:4

10 John had already had a vision of heavenly worship.
Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. Revelation 4:6

11 John had already had a vision of heavenly worship.
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Revelation 4:8

12 John had already had a vision of heavenly worship.
10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:10-11

13 They join the heavenly singers
1. They say “Amen”, or, “so be it”, to the mighty declaration of the heavenly multitude. 2. They worshipped God and said, “Hallelujah”.

14 A voice came from the throne
Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” Revelation 19:5

15 A voice came from the throne
1. The identity of the one who spoke is given. 2. The voice is encouraging the Heavenly singers. 3. All of God’s servants are told to join in His praise. Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” Revelation 19:5

16 A voice came from the throne
1. The identity of the one who spoke is given. 2. The voice is encouraging the Heavenly singers. 3. All of God’s servants are told to join in His praise. 4. Think of the unspeakable joy of joining the heavenly singers in praising God.

17 The Mighty Singers

18 How could John describe to us the sound of God’s Heavenly singers
And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Revelation 19:6

19 How could John describe to us the sound of God’s Heavenly singers
1. “As the voice of a great multitude”. a. Imagine millions singing praises to God 2. “As the voice of many waters” a. The loudness of praise is again emphasized here. 3. “As the voice of mighty thunders”. a. The deep voices of men perhaps are referenced here. 4. Put all of these together and you get an insight into the power, might and beauty of the Heavenly singers.

20 God Reigns Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7

21 God Reigns “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. Revelation 2:13

22 God Reigns 9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:9-10

23 God Reigns 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. Revelation 2:20-22

24 God Reigns And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! Revelation 18:2

25 God’s redeemed have every right to rejoice and be exceedingly glad
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7

26 The Heavenly singers sing for the marriage
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7

27 The Heavenly singers sing for the marriage
For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:2

28 Those who will be invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb are indeed blessed people
Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:9

29 Lessons for Us Today

30 John declared that he had written “the true words of God
Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:9

31 Lessons for Us Today A. John declared that he had written “the true words of God”. B. John is told not to worship an angel, but rather worship God. C. The “testimony of Jesus”, what the Lord has declared, is the “spirit of prophecy”. Apart from revelation there is no prophecy.

32 Conclusion 1. In this chapter we are reminded of why God is worthy of praise. 2. Let us always remember these reasons and many more as we sing praise to Him today.
