 Will ALL who ever lived confess Christ?  Will their confession be genuine or forced?  Will they be saved when the confess?  Does the Bible teach universal salvation?  What does “confess” mean?

 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

 Root – Say the same thing › Police say I stole the computer › I confess (say the same thing)  3 Uses in the New Testament 1. Admit – to a charge or accusation 2. Agree – with a statement, “Amen” – I agree or that is what I believe 3. Acknowledge – honor their position or power

1. Faith in Christ 32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

1. Faith in Christ 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10

1. Faith in Christ 2. Confess Sin Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16

1. Faith in Christ 2. Confess Sin 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10

1. Faith in Christ 2. Confess Sin 3. At Judgment 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father Philippians 2:10-11

1. Faith in Christ 2. Confess Sin 3. At Judgment 11 For it is written: "As I live, says the L ORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:11-12

 Every tongue – Every person › Patriarchal Age › Under the Law of Moses › Christian Dispensation › Unbelievers in every dispensation

 NOT:  Faith in the Bible, teachings about Christ  Confess their faith in Jesus as God  Admit the Jesus is their Savior  Make them saved and ready to enter heaven

 BUT:  Jesus as Lord – ruler  Recognize the authority He has  Respect for position – like “Your Honor” to a judge

1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her." 3 Again they said, "Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!"

4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!" 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
