7. Your task
Design and create a life-size shoe (or bigger) that looks functional as well as aesthetically interesting.
Your shoe must be made entirely out of cardboard and brown paper bags.
All of the features and details of the shoe can only be rendered in the colour brown.
Materials:
Brown paper bags
Rubber cement
Tape
Scissors
Utility cutters

8. Process
In your sketchbook, design at least 3 different types of shoes (can be done in line)
You should experiment with different combinations of elements and principles until you settle on one you want to continue with
Think of all aspects and angles of your shoe (shoelaces – twisted paper, buckles that actually work, and any decorative patterns and textures on different areas of the shoes and soles). Process development is also an art – keep your sketches clear and concise.
Plan out HOW you will construct it.
Craftsmanship is important and any bonding materials such as tape, glue or rubber cement should not be visible.
