2 Black History Month Trivia- Feb. 4, 2018
This activity will teach and remind our congregation about the great accomplishments of our forefathers. During Sunday School the intent is to divide the school into two teams and have them compete “Jeopardy” style. Each team will attempt to answer the most Black History related questions. A small prize will be given to the team who answers the most questions correctly. During Church School Entertaining and Thought Provoking

3 Movie Time – Feb. 4, 2018 The movie is idea because not all of the church family will be able to relate to the Trivia Activity. The younger population are more visual so I thought that a movie would be appropriate to show our history. During Church School Knowledge Gaining

4 Wear Your Favorite Jersey or of Sports ICON – February 4,2018
This day is to celebrate African American achievements in the sports world. It is also Super Bowl Sunday and to get the church engaged what better way than by letting them feel free to come and celebrate our accomplishments within a church setting. All Day Engaging

5 Youth Dress Up as Favorite Hero – Feb 11
This is an idea to have the children of the church dress up as their favorite African American Hero in an effort to learn more about them and to encourage activism by our youth. During Church School or Sunday Service

6 Panel Discussion – Feb 11 This is an activity that can occur during church school where we divide the room 1- 21, and 50 and over where we discuss popular topics like a (School Day) (Fashion) (Music) (Church) (Food) (Race Relations) etc. We share differences and similarities. During Church School

7 Celebration of Black Art and Culture Feb 18
We are the most talented and most created people on the planet. This day will be used to celebrate our accomplishments in the arts and culture. During Church School

8 Movie Night (Hidden Figures/12 Years a Slave or Selma) – Feb 24
This is an event that we could have on a Saturday afternoon in collaboration with the YPD’s. YPD’s could sell popcorn and drinks to help with activities for the youth.

9 Powerful Sayings and Quotes Session – Feb 25
This event is designed to share with Church School or in Sunday Service Powerful Saying and Quotes by African American Heros and Scholars. These will be inspirational quotes to have everyone think about what we can do as a people.

10 Soul Food Dinner- Feb. 25 Share and Eat as a village - After Service

11 Not so well known Hero – Every Sunday during Feb
Display a 3 minute or less video during service of a not so well known hero. Someone who fought for injustices or someone who has made tremendous strides for his/her people and to mankind.
