3 TEKS (2) Listening/speaking/culture. The student listens and speaks to gain knowledge of his/her own culture, the culture of others, and the common elements of cultures. The student is expected to: (A) connect experiences and ideas with those of others through speaking and listening (K-3); and (B) compare language and oral traditions (family stories) that reflect customs, regions, and cultures (K-3).

6 Asian Asian art Literature and Cuisine play major roles in the Asian culture.

7 Hispanic Churches, family, and food are major priorities for the Hispanic culture.

8 American Movies, music, and sports play a large role in American culture.

9 African Africa’s main focus is on the arts, crafts, food, and people.

10 Indian Indian cultures are very family oriented, dedicated to their religion and have many different types of food.
