Effective Dating enables you to future date three business rules: Deduction/Benefit Type Deduction/Benefit Plans Deduction/Benefit Groups

6 Deduction/Benefit Plan – Rates: Option/Rates
The Rates page shows the benefit options and associated rates.

7 Open Enrollment Configuration: Pending Effective Date
Pending effective date from open enrollment session: Date when benefit elections from an open enrollment session take effect and deductions are visible for employees. Date that should equal the effective date of rate options or age-graded rates. Sessions should be configured by pay groups with common period start, period end, and pay dates to ensure correct amounts are calculated and deducted for pay statements.

8 Open Enrollment Configuration: Pending Effective Date
Best Practice: Pending Effective date should be at least one day later than the last pay date of an existing previous benefit plan. You can also enter the first date of the first pay period in the new plan year. This ensures the deduction occurs in line with the new effective date of the benefit and any rate options or age-graded rate tables.

9 Effective Dating Perform the following verification steps for all business rules using effective dating: Review Effective Changes for Deduction/Benefit Type to ensure accuracy. Review the Effective Changes for Deduction/Benefit Plans included in Open Enrollment sessions to ensure accuracy. Review the Effective Changes for any Deduction/Benefit Group included in Open Enrollment sessions to ensure accuracy. Review the details and effective dates from within an Open Enrollment session.

10 Effective Dating Verify the pending effective date in the open enrollment session.
