Week I: Vitamins, minerals and water Week II: Meats, Fats and Oils Week III: Nutrition Facts and Label Claims Week IV: Fiber Facts and other carbs Week V: Bread, Dairy and Fruits Slide 01- This week we will focus on meals, snacks, freebies and condiments. But, before we do, let’s look at the Thrive bullet proof shield.

In this lesson we’re going to learn more about bread, cheese and dairy.

Food for Thought Bread, Bread, Bread? Breads is a carbohydrate. Carbs are important for energy. There are two kinds of carbs: simple and complex (starchy and fibrous). Bread can fall in to one of three categories in our program. You need to know the difference between in order to be successful. 5 Food for Thought Bread, Bread, Bread?
Serving Notes and Formulas: Category II Breads- 110 calories or less and 1 gram of fiber for every 10 calories. Category III Breads- typically you are allowed one slice. It is a great option for open faced sandwiches and must be combined with categories I and II. Important notes: If you are noticing a significant slowing in your metabolism or weight loss, consider the amount of bread in your diet. Even the Cat II breads can impede your progress.

6 Food for Thought Cheese Notes
Cheese can fall into two categories, either Category I: Lean Protein or as a Condiment. Cheese as a Category I: Lean Protein 4 slices of Kraft Fat-Free Cheese 1/2of Kraft Fat-free shredded cheese. 4 slices of veggie cheese. Cheese as a Condiment: Light or white cheese. Reduced fat Sargento 50 Calorie Cheese. Fat Free Feta 1-2 slices from Category I: Lean Protein List.

8 Food for Thought Milk Contrary to popular opinion, milk doesn’t do a body good. Broccoli is more dense in calcium than milk. Simple Milk Facts: All cow’s milk has 59 active hormones and tons of allergens, fat and cholesterol. Contains herbicides, pesticides and bacteria. It is one of many cancer fuels, it feeds cancer growth. It is high in sugar, fat and causes inflammation. We are the only mammal that drinks another mammals milk.
