Ohio’s new College Credit Plus can help students earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Taking a college course from a public college or university College Credit Plus is free. That means no cost for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.

Applies toward a degree or workforce certification Cannot be religious in nature No remedial courses
Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification at a public (or participating private) college.
In addition to being non-remedial, College Credit Plus courses may not be religious in nature.

12. Things to Consider High School Graduation: Scheduling: Future Plans:
Even if you participate in this program, you must meet your high school graduation requirements in order to earn a high school diploma.
Scheduling:
Full time CCP - No classes at WHS
Part time CCP - Classes taken at both WHS and post secondary educational institution
Future Plans:
If you plan well, this program can assist you in achieving future education and career goals and in exploring postsecondary education opportunities.

Top Academic Honors
To be considered for top academic honors (valedictorian, salutatorian, NHS) students must be taking four (4) credits at Warren High School during both junior and senior years.

Parents MUST pay the costs of the course and textbooks.
Average Textbook Cost: $50 to over $100
Tuition and Fees:
Cost for a 3 credit hour class is around $400

16. Student Athletes
OHSAA eligibility guidelines must be met by CCP student athletes.
Full time CCP student athletes must take a minimum of 9 hours each semester.
Part time CCP student athletes must be careful to meet the 5 unit guideline.
Meeting OHSAA guidelines is the responsibility of the student.
