Explain have been on both sides of this before – was really pleased to have met some of your services leads last week as I think we will all be able to work together to make sure this is as smooth as possible for clients and staff MERTON IAPT

2 About us We are part of Addaction-Thinkaction (previously KCA)
a registered charity founded in 1967 and 1975 respectively and merged in 2015 January Addaction is now the largest Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) provider Deliver IAPT in Merton, Kent & Medway, Kent & Greenwich Prisons & Surrey Higher than average clinical outcomes Addaction set up by Mollie Craven following the death of her son, a heroin addict KAC set up in East Kent KCA Mental Health Services started as a pilot service in East Kent Surgeries. The first PTP project was initially funded from General Medical Services funding as a pilot project in East Kent. Initially still linked to substance misuse but also as an alternative to prescribing The pilot project proved successful and in 1994 it was offered to all GP practices in Kent and taken up by 73 practices. PTP referrals – mild to moderate mental health problems KCA won a contract to provide Primary Care Psychological Therapy in Surrey in 2005 In 2008 first IAPT trainees across Kent and Medway We have supported over 100 trainees through the programme since that time and currently employ over 130 IAPT staff

We are commissioned by Merton CCG Main hub is at Cricket Green Surgery in Mitcham We work across the Borough in surgeries and community locations

4 What is on offer? We offer a stepped care model of mental health service to treat common mental illnesses like Anxiety Depression Stress Phobia Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

5 Types of Treatment We offer the full range of NICE recommended treatments which includes: Guided Self-help by phone, groups and workshops Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Counselling Other therapies such as Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy

6 Who can access the service?
Anyone aged 18 and above and registered with one of the 23 GPs in the borough of Merton How to access the service? Via your GP Self Referral

9 Working with the BME Community
Approximately 20% of the referrals we received over the last year were from the BME community. We would like to increase this to at least 25%. We offer therapy in a range of languages, including Tamil.
