3 MOSH Adoption System INTRODUCTION

4 Introduction The MOSH Leading Practice Adoption system was developed to assist the South African Mining Industry in its efforts to meet the Mining Industry Tripartite Occupational Health and Safety Targets and Milestones set in 2003. Facilitate Adoption of Noise Measurement Methodology It was recognised that Mines would need to adopt new technology or practices in order to bring about the required occupational health and safety improvements The MOSH Leading Practice Adoption system is designed to facilitate eager adoption of new ways of working (LPs) of all involved employees, including management as opposed to reluctant compliance It does this through a process devised to ensure that the right people receive the right information in the right way at the right time within the right organisational climate NOISE Adoption Team 12 November 2018

Set-up a leading practice adoption workshop to initiate the process of widespread adoption Establish COPA to facilitate of the adoption process, with the following main functions: Explain / use Leading Practice Adoption Guide Finalize procurement/ supply chain buying process flow Provide / arrange training Problem solving Provide / arrange assistance Share adoption experience Continuous improvement Mine visits as appropriate Disband COPA when Leading practice is fully adopted by the members of industry Restart the adoption system process for the next leading practice as a continuous cycle of OHS improvement NOISE Adoption Team 12 November 2018
