1 Rising 9th Grade Information

2 Graduation Requirements

3 Block Schedule Students take 4 classes each semester
4 classes 1st semester, 4 new classes 2nd semester They receive a full credit for each class for a total of 8 credits by the end of the school year Each class is approximately 85 minutes in length Students register for the whole school year 8 classes and 5 alternates will need to be selected

4 Class Selections Chorus, Band and Orchestra are Year long classes. They count as two selections. Students are expected to stay in the class for both semesters Electives can be academic classes. Such as a second math class in the same school year

10 Science Earth Science (Recommended for Students in Math IA and Math IB or lower) Honors Earth Science (Not specifically tied to a math level but provide an Honors level Science credit) Honors Biology (Recommended for students in Math Plus Honors/Math II)

14 PRIDE LAUNCH Pride Launch is Leesville’s freshmen orientation
Held close to the start of the new school year Activities will include: students following their schedule, club fair, school spirit activities and a session for parents
