Independently you will write a newspaper article based on the following event:
Johnny and Ponyboy’s rescue of the children in the church fire
Your aim is to explore this event- remember these two boys are still suspected of being on the run for the murder of local teen Bob.
Think about whether society would praise the boys or focus on their social class and gang affiliations.
You will need to revisit chapters 4-6 in order to complete this task.
You may have ‘eye witness statements’ that can affirm what they saw – how the boys saved the children from the fire – their heroism
