ISO Committee on conformity assessment (ISO/CASCO)
131 ISO members are represented in ISO/CASCO (92 participating members and 39 observers).
22 international organizations are liaison members of ISO/CASCO: BIPM, CEOC, CAC, EFAC, EOQ, Eurolab, IAF, IFAN, IFIA, IIOC, ILAC, INLAC, IPC, IQNet, ITU-T, OIE, OIML, UILI, UNFCCC and IEC.
ISO/CASCO performs both policy and technical work. It is the only ISO committee developing standards that is based in Geneva and is directly managed by ISO.

CASCO technical projects include the development of the following documents:
June 2015 saw the publication of ISO/IEC Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 1: Requirements;
ISO/IEC Conformity assessment — General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies (Revision, CD2);
ISO/IEC General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories (Revision, CD2);
ISO Conformity assessment - General requirements for the competence of reference material producers (Transformation of the Guide 34:2009 into an international standard, ISO 17034, DIS)

6. CASCO ongoing technical work (2)
ISO/IEC TS Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 2: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of environmental management systems (Revision at DIS stage);
ISO/IEC TS Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 3: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of quality management systems (Revision, first meeting in April);
ISO/IEC TS Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 9: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of anti-bribery management systems (Development of a new TS, first meeting in April);

ISO/IEC 17021, Part 10 Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 10: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of occupational health and safety management systems (NWIP balloted).
ISO/TR 17028, Conformity assessment - Example of a certification scheme for services (WD);
Research and recommendation paper on the use of the terms "validation and verification" in the conformity assessment context (The WG46 carries out this research and will deliver its recommendation on the need to develop a generic CASCO document to cover those activities at the CPC meeting in May 2016).
