1 Common Assessment Framework for Practice
AIMS: To raise awareness of the underlying policies supporting the assessment framework To introduce the process of the Common Assessment Framework To review the importance of working in partnership with children and families 1. Delivering services to children in need in our communities is the corporate responsibility of local authorities, health organisations and community services. Improvements in outcomes for children in need can only be achieved by close collaboration between professionals and agencies working with children and families. A critical task is to ascertain with the family whether a child is in need and how that child and family might best be helped. The effectiveness with which a child’s needs are assessed is key to the effectiveness of subsequent actions and services and ‘ultimately’ to the outcomes for the child.
